What exactly are you trying to do with HornetQ? Use it standalone? Use it as a bundled messaging service in the JBoss application server (now known as WildFly)?

Either way, HornetQ project is no longer active and the code has been donated to ActiveMQ. More details about it here http://hornetq.blogspot.in/2015/06/hornetq-apache-donation-and-apache.html

As Jaikiran mentioned, the HornetQ code-base was donated to Apache awhile back and has become the Apache ActiveMQ Artemis broker.  I recommend you check that out.  If you need help with something check out the User List.

              Hi Jaikiran/Justin,

Thanks  for your valuable information. I want to learn about MQ and its functionalities, want to gain skills in MQ. As am working on JBoss, when i googled related to MQ in the context of JBoss, i got to know about HornetQ.

I want to implement it and test its functionalities. So please suggest me should i start working on HornetQ or drop it and move to ActiveMQ.

Am completely new to MQ technology, please suggest me any of the best MQ with supporting docs/links.

              Thanks,

              Sreekanth

As both Jaikiran and I made clear, the HornetQ code-base was donated to Apache ActiveMQ and is now the Apache ActiveMQ Artemis broker.  This broker has been integrated into the latest releases of Wildfly and will be a part of JBoss EAP in the future.  Check out the link I posted in my previous comment.  You'll be able to find the Artemis documentation there.

                  Thanks for your information Justin.

Will start working on it and will get back here if any help needed.
