.NET Core with Oracle 12c

Hello,

I'm looking at connecting a .NET Core application to an Oracle 12c database using EF Core. Has anyone been able to do this yet?

Last I saw from the Oracle .NET team hasn't released any ADO.NET provider as they are still investigating it.

I've been looking at a third-party ADO.NET providers, and they seem to support EF Core but not .NET Core frameworks, or atleast not .NET Core frameworks on RHEL.

My google-foo could be lacking and I'm just not finding the correct results which is a possibility also.

Hello Robert!

EF Core does not have a provider for Oracle just yet. If you'd like, you can upvote the feature on https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=18357:39:105422858407495::NO::P39_ID:28241

However, there is an option available to you called dotConnect by devart. Here is what the EF documentation recommends [1]. Here is the dotConnect page for Oracle [2], which states that it supports Oracle 12c. Note that this is a paid solution though.
