1. Re: Undertow/WildFly https-remoting: much slower than remoting: performance under load
jaikiran May 7, 2014 1:23 AM (in response to darrenjones)Just for the sake of reproducing this, would you be able to attach an application here?

darrenjones May 7, 2014 11:51 AM (in response to jaikiran)It'll take me a little while to put something together, but I will do my best to recreate this with a small application.

3. Re: Undertow/WildFly https-remoting: much slower than remoting: performance under load
darrenjones May 12, 2014 4:49 AM (in response to jaikiran)It was problematic to create a small standalone replicator - our load tester client does a lot of operations. But I have found that the performance appears to be due to the client application, not the server.
When the slowdown occurs, the client application is running 1,000 threads, each with a connection to the server and doing a lot of network I/O to the server. If instead, I have 4 separate JVMs, each running 250 threads, the slowdown does not occur.
At least for now, I have a solution to my problem.

ctomc May 12, 2014 6:14 AM (in response to darrenjones)1 of 1 people found this helpfulI think I know what root cause for this is.
It should be fixed in Add socket options to listeners by ctomc · Pull Request #6249 · wildfly/wildfly · GitHub
In short, missing TCP_NODELAY for https-listener could have caused this.
any chance you can try build wildfly yourself with above fix applied?
This PR will probably be merged later today, so you could wait till then.
In any case I am interested if this fixes the problem.

darrenjones May 14, 2014 11:49 AM (in response to ctomc)Hi Tomaz,
I've just tried using WildFly 8.1.0.CR2 (which has your fix in it). I am seeing that the login step using https-remoting is now around half a second faster than with CR1.
Thanks!

sganeshraj Oct 26, 2016 5:36 AM (in response to ctomc)Hi Tomaz,
So there will be a performance degradation when we use http-remoting instead of remoting? or it will be same ?
Thank you,
