Specifics on Version 8.0 release note comment, "Reduced resource consumption"?

Can someone please share specifics on the 8.0 release note comment saying, "Reduced resource consumption"?

I'm specifically interested in Infinispan marshallers and ComponentRegistry.  We're on release 7.0.3.Final and our heap dumps show a lot of resource consumption in these two areas.  I'm curious whether the 8.0 improvements around resource consumption address anything specifically in the areas of the marshallers and the ComponentRegistry.

Those changes were mostly about allocation rates and thread usage.

Marshalling changes are happening in master (to become 9.0) but I'm interested to know about your findings with ComponentRegistry. Care to share details please ?

Thanks for the reply.  Interesting... a couple follow-up questions...

1. what about thread usage changed in 8.0?

2. what about marshallers are changing in 9.0?  For reference, we do very little "marshalling".. the only cross-process communication we do is sending invalidation messages... yet we see marshallers taking up a relatively large portion of our heap.

Meanwhile I'll collect some data about our ComponentRegistry and include here.
