ojdbc set up instructions

Hello:

  I am new to this forum and new to wildfly. We are testing out migrating to wildfly. Most of our projects were jboss as 4, 5 or 6 and jdk 1.6. Now being forced to jdk 8 for the tls reasons. JBOSS 7 and JDK 8 apparently don't play well together so we are testing wildfly 10.  I was hoping that setting up the oracle database connections would have been more like earlier versions of jboss. Anyway I have been all over the place trying to find one definitive method for setting up our oracle db connections with ojdbc. Every page i find seems to have different instructions and none of them work. Id their one place that wildfly has a definitive set of instructions to do this? A proven step by step method? Again we are using wildfly 10 with jdk 8. Thanks in advance for any info.

  First, thanks for your help and speedy reply. I really appreciate it. I basically took the directions and substituted the word oracle for mysql and ojdbc6.jar for mysql-connector-java-5.1.35-bin.jar. I have a quick question, however. When it asks me to enter the length command in the cli, what should i substitute for  MysqlXADataSource ?

Here is the command it asks to be entered:

[standalone@localhost:9990 /] /subsystem=datasources/jdbc-driver=mysql:add(\
  driver-name=mysql,\
  driver-module-name=com.mysql,\
  driver-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver,\
  driver-xa-datasource-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlXADataSource\
)

I believe that would be oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource.

You should take the entry from your driver jar (which is indeed oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource for Oracle)

It would be help for you though the following documents are for JBoss EAP 7. Regarding to Datasources settings, It should be available for WildFly as well.

After exploring the jar I found that for oracle ojdbc it is "oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource".
