Please advice if a JDK or a JRE is recommended for Wildfly.
You don't need a JDK to run WildFly 10. You can just use a JRE.

ray2017 May 28, 2017 6:00 PM (in response to jaikiran)Hi Jai,
I realized my topic heading is confusing. Thanks for correcting.
When I look int o EAP 7 or 6 supported configuration, it always recommend to use a JDK instead of JRE.
e.g. JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 7 Supported Configurations - Red Hat Customer Portal
So dont you think running a application server with a JRE is a bad idea.?

abhijithumbe May 28, 2017 11:33 PM (in response to ray2017)You can use JDK or JRE, its upto you. But JDK provides some additional tools like jstack,jconsole,jmap,jvisualvm,..etc which are not shipped with JRE. These tools are helpful for monitoring/troubleshooting purposes. Because of that normally its recommended to use JDK.
