Hi,

I was going through data versioning and found below.

When operating in LOCAL mode, write skew checks rely on Java object references to compare differences and this is adequate to provide a reliable write-skew check,

however this technique is useless in a cluster and a more reliable form of versioning is necessary to provide reliable write skew checks.

how to use versioning for clustered cache?

Versioned API in Hot Rod client is used for enabling the user to make compare-and-swap style of operations.

The data versioning that you refer to in the first post is handled internally and it's mostly used when caches are configured with optimistic locking. You should not be using that if accessing Infinispan remotely over Hot Rod.
