EAP 8 - Release Date

Hello

I don't appear to be able to find any information on a proposed release date for EAP 8. Wildfly 11 has been out a few months now.

We have clients running our Financial Services Product on either Wildfly or Enterprise Application Platform and would like to be able to plan product and technology upgrades with them.

I'd be very grateful if I could be pointed to a release roadmap or be given a rough idea when EAP 8 may become available.

We would also be open to receiving early beta versions to assist with testing.

According to this: (EAP) 7 Supported Configurations   EAP 7.1 is supported on Java 1.8.

Is there an EAP release earmarked ( name and release date ) for Java 1.9 support?

Well, JDK9 is a specific topic that everyone likes to talk about and "want" it but don't really know the full impact of it.

But long story short, WildFly 11 mostly works on JDK9, there is an known issue with JPA / hibernate, which you can mitigate by manually upgrading javassit to latest version, which we couldn't upgrade in 11.0.0.Final as there was no GA version of it.

Keep in mind that WildFly 11 runnability on JDK9 is in classpath mode, not in jigsaw modular environment.

We do continue work on improving JDK9 support. So each next release will be better with JDK9 / 10.
