JBoss EAP on RHEL7 connection to AD question

Hey guys,

First time posting here and new to JBoss EAP.

I'm running a RHEL 7.4 server with JBoss EAP installed and want to get it connected over to our AD on the Windows side. Currently the RHEL server is on the AD.

The RHEL server will have a front end user interface to connect to the AD as the user logs in. The front end will utilize the JBoss EAP to perform this login.

My question is: Is there a way to set up the EAP application to use the AD without having to create an entry for each user on our network into the JBoss EAP or RHEL server? We have thousands of users who will be using this application and it would be really tedious to have to add each user. What I was looking for was a way to have the user use their credentials and the JBoss go to AD to validate their credentials.

Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can secure your application with LDAP - use ldap-realm [1] for that.

Yes, I have read about using LDAP but can you provide a url or directions for setting this up? Everything I've found has mentioned this but no clear description on how to... thanks.
