    Wildfly LTS-like plans?

    stdunbar

I'm very happy to see new features added to Wildfly very quickly.  However, it's not very clear if every release is "production ready".  I do realize that Red Hat has a financial incentive to never declare that but is there any plan to create a LTS (long term support) type of release? It will be a bit difficult to pull the trigger on upgrading to a new release when there is a new one so frequently.  If it followed the LTS model of Ubuntu and others then we could decide when it is appropriate to update.

      Thanks for any info!

Red Hat JBoss EAP is a downstream product based on WildFly, that comes with long support cycle

Thanks Tomaz.  I am aware that EAP is derived from Wildfly.  What I was hoping for was some indication from the RedHat / Wildfly team that a Wildfly release is worth upgrading to.  I do understand that if I need, for example, parts of JEE8 I will need to upgrade but for not quite bleeding edge development I'm looking for something reasonably stable.  The company I'm supporting is currently making about USD -$100/month so an initial layout of USD +$8000 will be a bit beyond our means.  Hopefully someday but not quite yet.
