How to check the connection pool with JMX ?(TransactionalDataSourceFactory)

English I forgive but I'm poor.

We have developed web application server for enterprise with your org.jboss.narayana.tomcat.jta.TransactionalDataSourceFactory.

We have watcher service to JMX.

So, we want to check the connection pool with JMX (like org.apach.tomcat.jdbc.pool.jmx.ConnectionPoolMBean).

• getIdle()
• getSize()
• getActive()
• getNumIdle()
• getNumActibe()
• getWaitCount()

But, we can't find it on JMX.

Please tell me how to check the connection pool with JMX .

Information details are as follows:

The following resources are found on JMX.

• Catalina:type=Resource,resourcetype=Context,host=localhost,context=/dl,class=javax.sql.XADataSource,name="transactionalDataSource"

But, they have only the following JMX info.

We already checked that the connection pool is enabled.

(We changed the parameter of connection pool then checked the number of connections.)

Thanks for interesting with the Narayana, and I'm checking this JMX issue on my Tomcat locally and will update it later.

It looks like the common-dbcp2 exposes the org.apache.commons.dbcp2.PoolableConnectionMXBean for every database connection and there is no JMX bean like the ConnectionPoolMBean currently.

I just raise [JBTM-3032] Check the connection pool with JMX when using Transactional DataSource - JBoss Issue Tracker and will investigate to see if we can do something  to help

The DBCP provides the BasicDataSourceMXBean to expose some pool information via JMX. It needs to set the 'jmxName' in the context.xml, just like

So can you try to set the 'jmxName'  to see if it works ?

We checked source codes that

when jmxName is null, BasicDataSourceMXBean is not registered to jmx server.
