jBPM 7.13.0 won't run with Spring Boot due to default JPA naming configuration

      Hello,

we ran into problems when trying to upgrade the jBPM version in our Spring Boot application. The application does not start and we get an error like the one you see below. After investigating the problem we came to the conclusion that the reason is jBPM's inclusion of index annotations in the entity classes and the way the columns are referenced therein (see RHPAM-1271 KIE database creation does not include indexes by calvinzhuca · Pull Request #1277 · kiegroup/jbpm · GitHub and jbpm/CommentImpl.java at master · kiegroup/jbpm · GitHub  for the implementation related to the stacktrace). It seemed to us that the columns should be referenced in full snake-case notation (i.e. "added_by_id" instead of "addedBy_id").

A colleague of mine opened an issue on StackOverflow describing the problem in general and it looks like that is indeed the case. See hibernate mapping - How to apply the same naming strategy to @index columnList as for column? - Stack Overflow .

For what it's worth I created a small Spring Boot dummy application demonstrating the issue and creating the error below on startup (GitHub - gbtec-paulkrybus/spring-boot-jbpm: Small Spring Boot Application to demonstrate issues encountered while trying… ).

I was hoping that you could give us advice on what would be the best course of action now, since it doesn't look that we can resolve this issue on our side.

      Thanks a lot!
