JBoss 2.4.4 local client optimization

Hi,
Could somebody tell me how to get RMI call optimization in JBoss 2.4.4/tomcat. I ran some test and between my servlets and EJB I see a lot of time spent in serialization. I use the default JBoss/tomcat config.
Am I missing something? After searching through the archive I couldn't find a clear answer to this.

I think all the necessary pieces are in place but the required local ejb ref in the web.xml is not supported in 2.4.4. I believe is has been implemented in the 2.4.5 branch but I am waiting for the release and have not tried it yet.

Hi,
Well from what I've read it is not really necessary to use EJBLocalObject since JBoss is supposed to do local optimization anyway. The thing is that I cannot get JBoss to optimize local calls.
