Can't install or update JBoss tools

Hi,

At work we have Eclipse 2018-09 (4.9.0) and we can't install JBoss tools. From the marketplace, from "install new software" or using the install icon in JBoss Tools - JBoss Tools 4.9.0.Final, nothing works.

Where can we find installation logs to find out what the problem is ?

Hello Alain,

one could definitely use Error log in eclipse: Window -> Show view -> Other... -> Error log. The same content should be stored in log file that can be found in path/to/your/workspace/.metadata/.log file.

is there a specific reason not to use the greatest latest 4.11 (JBoss Tools - JBoss Tools 4.11.0.Final) - which of course then requires Eclipse 4.11/2019-03?

Thanks, I see a lot of errors in there, I wasn't aware of them and will investigate them.

I can't reply to André in another comment, so here it is : JBoss Tools - Eclipse 4.9 (2018-09) says "JBoss Tools 4.9.0.Final is the latest stable version available for Eclipse 4.9 (2018-09)"

Hi Alain,

Sure, if you're bound by Eclipse 4.9, then yes, there's no path to use JBoss Tools 4.11. A pitty, since you'd miss improvements and bug fixes.
It looks as if we have a problem in our update site for 4.9, we're on it.

we didnt find a quick route to install JBoss Tools 4.9 currently, so we filed an issue at [JBIDE-26642] Installing JBoss Tools 4.9 installs 4.11 bits - JBoss Issue Tracker . You can track the progress over there.
