What a better way to start this blog than announcing the release of what I think is the best JSF framework out there. Of course I'm talking about RichFaces, which just got to Milestone 6 this afternoon.

You might be wondering why Milestone 6 instead of CR. Well it seems that the developers found out that another Milestone was required in order to have a better and more stable CR. So in a few more days, a release labeled CR will be published and it seems it will be rock solid!.

Whats new in RichFaces 4.0.0 Milestone 6?

The official release announcement shows the new changes in Mileston 6 but the best way to find out what this release provides is to test it yourself. So grab the jars, test RichFaces, provide feedback and report any bugs you might find in the forums or in RichFaces' jira.

How do you start using it?

Follow either the maven guide or the manual setup (for non-maven users) at the getting started with RichFaces 4 guide. If you find something on the guides that doesnt work propertly let me know. Also please consider that this guides might be written with previous releases in mind, just change the version mentioned there to the latest (M6) and it should work. An update to these guides where needed, will follow this RichFaces release in the upcoming days

Thanks

Also, I would like to thank Jay Balunas and Ilya Shaikovsky for helping me getting involved with the project. Thank guys, you and all the development team rock!.
