This works just as designed. Just change pattern to "MM/dd/yy" :)
If I change the date pattern as you've suggested will it also permit 4 year date entry? I would like to support both of these styles
01/01/48 which is January 1, 1948
01/01/1948 which is also January 1, 1948
Yes it will be submitted as it should.. but the calendar will display it again in data pattern and reRendered
it would be very usefull to be able to have pattern "dd/MM/yyyy" for showing date when using pattern "d/M/y" for parsing...
if user type "1/3/8" then the component would change it into "01/03/2008" and refresh the input...
(how can we define the dates range... 1950->2049 or 1970->2069 or maybe +2000 for ??0->999 ? -> need to code our own DateConverter)
can we use our own DateConverter, by putting it in converter attribute ?
(maybe i'll try one day...)
you secify the converter in converter attribute or use f:converter as for any simple input component.
