can you try to switch to passive mode?

I didn't change the directory. I only set the user name and password. Everything else was defaulted.

Can I ask you to rerun the new test client in any case? The report you sent me highlighted an issue and I would like to see what it now shows ;)

Thanks very much for that, it was very helpful.

I have modified our code to match the FTP test client and will check it into trunk very soon. We now detect this situation and provide a better response.

The problem was definitely the data connection back to the client. The FTP server responded with a 500 response and an error message stating that it had rejected the PORT command. Enabling passive mode is one way to fix this issue.
