I think the language is slightly misleading. I believe what it's trying to say is that the in-built high availability that comes with the ESB and is transport agnostic, is less of benefit if using JMS. But I'd have to go back and check the docs to be sure.

It is a bit vague and confusing. In other areas of the doc it says that JMS is the only method by which messages can be guaranteed delivery (using JMS transactions) so it might be an idea to remove or update it.
