before I knew about this bean (very new to jboss)
I wrote a script to check
cat ~/logs/server.log | grep "Halting" # or Started
if [ $? = 0 ]
thenecho " found it"exitfidone
You can get the "Started" message without the server actually being available. It can happen if there are binding errors or other failures in starting various services.
What does the script do, I am pretty new to shell as well.. I know its a loop and checks in the server.log if it has the word Started or not. if run after the startup.ssh its going to loop till it gets Started and when it exits after echoing. But if i run this script in between a run it will be tru anyways.. hmmm.. it might solve my problem i guess let me see..
If i have interpretted the script wrongly pls do correct me.
I use it as part of a build script i created for an application, essentially I just want to see that the server started. Once the server is started I have it drop a file back to another server, once the the script on the other server see's the file it will continue with its own script.
