Can progress bar and implictly the server polling be turn off with rich:fileUpload?

The server polling creates large number of file descriptors on the server when uploading large files (around 100 MB) over relatively slow connection. While progress bar is something nice to have I would rather turn if off to eliminate the file descriptor overhead. Any ideas/suggestions?

Also noticed that flash version does not work in Firefox. is ther a workaorund for Firefox?

1) use progress facet in order to put your own progressBAr component and redefine for example interval attribute to reduce polling frequency.
2) flash player version could cause some issues. check it in firefox.

Is there any work around for the Flash player and Firefox?

Hi Nick - This is the version information
FF: 3.6.11
Flash Player 10.1
The issue seems to be isolated to authorization with WebLogic. I can see the http request gets sent and WebLogic denies it. I guess the request is missing some of the fields. If it will help I can go back and capture request and response.
