Known issue with seam generate in 2.1.0.GA

I regret having to report that there is a typo in two of the FreeMarker templates used by seam-gen that causes the generate command to error out if the entity has a @ManyToOne association with a non-composite foreign key. The problem is documented in the issue JBSEAM-3617.

Fortunately, the solution is extremely trivial. If you are patch savvy, you can apply the patch supplied with that issue. Otherwise, perform the following procedure.

Open the file seam-gen/view/view.xhtml.ftl

Replace the word indentifier with identifier

Repeat for the file seam-gen/view/edit.xhtml.ftl

All your woes will be gone.

Also note that there are some circumstances under which the seam command is not working on Windows, reported here: JBSEAM-3585. Look for a patch to appear there soon.

Both of these issues are now corrected in the trunk. In fact, now the seam script on Linux, Mac, Windows, and Windows/cgywin is more robust than ever! I have tried to consider every possible path variation that would hang it up, and it appears to be performing flawlessly.

Please note that there is an outstanding syntax error in the seam.bat script for Windows in Seam 2.1.0.CR1. Line 18 of seam.bat tests that the environment variable SEAM_HOME is correctly specified. Unfortunately, the test will always fail due to a syntax error. The variable name needs a trailing % symbol immediately following SEAM_HOME. This is fixed in the trunk and will be available as part of Seam 2.1.1.
