Also, If we use Infinispan hot rod server and client . can we have client using Java 7 and server running Java 6 vice versa.
We're baselined on JDK6, so I'm pretty sure JDK7 should not be a problem.

When we upgrade Java on client side to newer version in future without upgrading infinispan server , should there any serialization issues?
This will be harder to upgrade all clients and sever at the same time?
I take it you're using the HotRod client then?
If so, before adding your objects to the cache we serialize them (by default) using a JBossMarshalling serializer. Basically the server is only aware of byte, the client doing the serialization, so you're safe.
Yes, I am using hot rod client in each application connected to common hotrod server.
Thought I'd check in again on my own thread. 2013 is almost upon us as is the FEB 2012 JDK 6 EOL. What's the status of JDK7 support for Infinispan?
