if this is the question :
"j_security_check" is the way the portal ask Tomcat to enter the process of login.
check this world on a internet search engine, you'll have plenty of explanation about that.
(this is not portal, but regular Tomcat way of running).
by the way, with gatein 3.2, you don't need anymore the "private" in the url path.
it works with it (legacy), but it is not needed.
beside, the two "abc" are strange.
difficult to say where it comes from.
what did you do, to customize your portal ?
may be have a look at your application...
hope it helps,
Thnx for your reply...... 'abc' is my application name. Each time I try to login with invalid username & password, this 'abc' gets appended to the url.... we can notice 2 'abc' coming in the url http://localhost:8085/portal/private/abc/abc/j_security_check ...... Eventhough, this gets appended to the url, when I give correct username & password, there is no issue with login.... What might be the reason behind this issue - application name getting appended.........
I looked again at how the login process works on one of my portals,... and it seems that simply the "abc" of your application should not be in the Url.
try this url :
it should be enough to get the login window.
then, if it works fine, look at the login.jsp file, and your customization, to make it work with this simple url.
not the url with the "private + app name" in the path.
Note : in my portal, if I try the url http://host/portal/abc/j_security_check, with a wrong password, then, it show again the login page, with the url reduced to : "http://host/portal/j_security_check" (no "abc").
Thnx for ur reply..... As per what u said, I checked my login.jsp. I've given "response.encodeURL("abc/j_security_check")" in from action. I changed it to "contextPath + "/abc/j_security_check"".... now the issue got rectified.....
