This is possible, but I'm not sure if its recomeneded. I would like understand more about your use case. Do you need a process for represing those things?
What is your goal of having a process for that?
If you browse this repository : https://github.com/Salaboy/emergency-service-drools-app
You will find similar cases (look for the bpmn files), but there it is justified to have a business process.
To give you some background.
We have a java app that recieves orders from an external source. These can come in rapid fire.
We want to use jBPM to start the java class that opens the connection to the order source, and listens to order recieved events.
By doing this we can seperate the transport logic that we currently have - that is, when an order arives we send it to a queue.
Plus, we can features to route and process orders.
thanks for your help.
That's exactly why I was asking. That sounds as an integration problem (look for camel routes) and not a business process.
You can do the same with rules and events as well. It all depends on your goal.
Yes, ultimately we will go with SwitchYard.
However the ability for Biz admins to play and deploy a new process is appealing. However, yes, for the transport and routing camel - in particular, SwitchYard - is very appearling.
