1. Re: MAT download and installation
tomjenkinson Jan 2, 2013 10:51 AM (in response to prachi140688)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi Prachi,
1. svn co http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/mass/MAT/tags/1.0/ jbossmass-1.0
2. cd jbossmass-1.0/bin
3. ./run.sh
After that, you should be able to follow the instructions in file "README". When it refers to $DIST, this should be the directory I left you in (i.e. the root of the checkout).
Hope that helps,
Tom

prachi140688 Jan 3, 2013 12:11 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Hey Tom,
Thanks. That helps. I'll try it today and get back again on that note.
One more query.
I've downloaded a zip file of DependencyFinder tool named 'DependencyFinder-1.2.1-beta4.bin.zip' ...came across this option in one of the community post.
Will that help too?? I mean are they same, functionally?

tomjenkinson Jan 3, 2013 6:14 AM (in response to prachi140688)Hi Prachi,
DependencyFinder is a component of MAT, rather than an equivalent.
Hope that clarifies,
Tom

prachi140688 Jan 3, 2013 7:37 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)We are tryin it on a Virtual machine.
We've accessed the run.cmd and WSLT executables.
How to check out from SVN?

prachi140688 Jan 3, 2013 7:52 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Hey Hi,
We are trying it first on an old VM of Win 2000 Server having Weblogic installed with JDK 5.
Not sure on how to run the tool on a Windows machine because they seem like Linux installables esp. the WLST ones.

7. Re: MAT download and installation
tomjenkinson Jan 3, 2013 7:55 AM (in response to prachi140688)If you take a look in bin/wlstWrapper.sh you can see if is sourcing the wlst distribution environment script, then executing java, it looks to just need WLST jars in the path. I haven't ran it on Windows myself so can't help too much, you could try putting cygwin on the box and see if you can run the .sh files?

prachi140688 Jan 3, 2013 8:14 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Hey Tom,
Thanks for the quick reply.
My VM doesn't have access to internet so can't really install Cygwin and the required packages online.
Can you suggest any other software?

9. Re: MAT download and installation
tomjenkinson Jan 3, 2013 8:21 AM (in response to prachi140688)What I do with Cygwin is install it on one pc and ask it to save the packages. I then zip that up and use it to install it on other machines (I think the option is "install from disk").
If not, as I say, try to convert bin/wlstWrapper.sh to .cmd, it should just be a case of locating the wlst script in the WebLogic installation, then calling java?

prachi140688 Jan 4, 2013 12:04 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Hey,
It wasn't a big task indeed.
Since my VM doesn't have access to internet, please temme how do I see the reports in repository. Want to see whether it's working or no!
I'hd downloaded the scripts somewhere else and had copied on to the VM.

tomjenkinson Jan 4, 2013 4:20 AM (in response to prachi140688)Hi Prachi,
The reports will be generated in the reports/ folder.
Open reports/index.html in a browser to view the reports.
It shouldn't need an internet connection to view those, if it did you could zip up that folder and copy it locally to take a look.
Alternatively you could just view html files in notepad.

prachi140688 Jan 4, 2013 5:06 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Hi Tom,
In one of the physical windows XP machine I have Tortoise svn client installed but it's giving errors while svn checkout.
Especially, it says that the link couldn't be reached: http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/mass/
Any idea why dis happens?

tomjenkinson Jan 4, 2013 5:09 AM (in response to prachi140688)Hi Prachi,
I can confirm that that address is up. Is this one of the machines that doesn't have access to the internet? If so you might have to check it out on another pc, zip up the checkout and physically copy the zip to the XP machine.
