Doesn't the server.log already contain all those logs?
The server.log has everything. I wanted to separate out server startup logs in boot.log.
There's no such thing as a separate boot log anymore.
Thanks Jaikiran for reply.
our application uses logging property file to control logging settings. I noticed that whenever I change setting in it it affect to server.log logging.
i.e. if I change logging level to ERROR in logging property file within WAR, it logs in applog.log file also same thing it started logging in server.log.
How server.log and application specific logging related ?
If your deployment contains a logging.properties by default the log manager for your deployment will use that configuration. I'm also assuming the logging.properties file is not in the standard JUL format. The configuration in your deployment should not affect how the server components log.
