Yes WildFly 8 and newer is java EE7 (not just EE6) certified and runs on Java 8.
Most of support for Java8 came with WildFly 8.0, and it only got better with every next version.
WildFly 10, which is currently beta, requires JDK 8 as minimum to run.

Do we need any settings for better performance of wildfly 8 in java 8? When checked Wildfly 8.2.1 on Java 7 & Java 8, the performance on Java 8 was not better.

there are so such performance tuning parameter available but setting correct GC algorithm , thread pool considering your heap allocation, number of concurrent users, nature of application can help you to get better application performance.
WildFly 10.1 is the latest release, you should try with that version.
There were a lot enhancements between wildfly 10.1 and the early releases.
We swap from weblogic 12c to wildfly 10.1 in production and we don't have performance issues.
