We checked the connectivity with the SQuirreL you suggested, it connects to SAP HANA very quickly (~15-20 seconds)

I need to check out the import properties, any suggestions which can be helpful?

That may not be a full comparison.  SQuirreL should continue to load metadata in the background.  If you click through the metadata tree you may notice it is still loading.

As has been mentioned you would start with importer.tableTypes and importer.schemaPattern.  Of course this is assuming that the driver is doing something appropriate with the additional filters.  It would probably be best to use trace logging and provide the log messages during the import.  It should give some idea how much each stage is taking - tables, keys, procedures, etc.
