I just checked again and the evaluation included in the .zip worked for me. Just to be sure, you're uploading the jboss_on_2-0_eval_license.xml file (not the jon_license_agreement.txt file), correct?
I think the problem you're seeing is that JON is unable to write to the Java preferences backing store. Which operating system are you running on? If its *nix then you'll need to make sure the user you are starting the JON Server and Agent with has permissions to write into ~/.java
@jdobies: Yes I double-checked that I am using the xml-file, but it is still not working
@Charles Crouch: I am running JBoss ON on an Ubuntu 2008.04 box. I tried running as the server as root, but even that did not help.
I finally found out that I this is an issue with Java 6. All runs well with Java 5. Thanks for your help.
We just ran into that last night internally, someone had done the same thing internally. Sorry I forgot to post it to this thread too, but good to hear that you're getting along.
As you've noticed, we currently only support JDK 5 on JBoss ON. We are looking into JDK 6 support.
