    Eol of dv

So sad to hear that DV is no longer available after this Friday..

Amazing to me the behemoth of rh could never capture the success of mmx.  The seemingly conscious decisions that derailed the success track is unfathomable.  The ships captain must know the ship!

Yes, it is official that Redhat will no longer be supporting any more new versions of JBoss Data Virtualization (JDV) product that is built using Teiid. If you are a customer using JDV please contact your Red Hat account representative for continued supported on existing versions, which gives you ample runway in years before EOL. Also, ask your representative about migration paths. The EOL this Friday is only for any new customers who want to buy new subscriptions, so please note the difference.

However, no fear, the community of Teiid will continue to thrive, as there are no plans to abandon the project. In fact, the opposite of it, as project leads we are very much committed to the project.  If you follow the advancements in data landscape in the last few years with Big Data, Analytics and Machine Learning (ML) have been taking more and more land grab, where supporting these kinds of works loads with silo traditional client-server based JDV model is no longer feasible.

To align the project with the computational needs and use cases of future, we are reshaping the project to support these newer workloads. We want Teiid to be able to harness the deployment/scalability/elasticity models of cloud-based engines like Amazon, OpenShift and Azure. We want to support the development of Microservices, help pave a path from Monolith to Microservices, We want to provide a Web-based tooling, we want to build tighter integrations with other products. You can see some of these work already in progress with projects like Teiid Spring Boot, Teiid-Thorntail and Teiid-Beetle Studio.

I invite you and all other community members and offer front row seats in guiding us towards your next-generation data integration solutions that you can envision with Teiid.

          Thank you.

          Ramesh..
