you can create a sbrdirectory like myapp.war in the server/deploy dir.
jboss will trtet it like a war file.
beware to have at least the required structure an a minimal web.xml deployment descriptor

if it is ony about to be quick, why don't you write a simple script packaging your stuff together and copying it into the deploy directory
Thanks for your help. I have the server picking up the directory in the deployment directory but how do I get JBoss to re-deploy after I copy in a single class that I have changed.
touching the top-level dd (application.xml or web.xml)
touching the top-level dir
moving the top-level dir out and back into the deploy dir
using the /jmx-console
