Web Content Hangs When Not Accessed For Period Of Time

Hi,

I am having an issue where war/war-in-ear deployments work when first deployed and from then on if they are regularly accessed. If they are not accessed regularly (maybe couple of days between access), I have to undeploy and redeploy them to get them functioning again.

This is with JBoss 3.0.6 on Linux.

Is there a configuration setting I need to tweek somewhere?

All help is appreciated...

Hi,
i have the same problem on JBoss 3.2.1/Jetty on Linux. The servlets in the .war work. But all the stylesheets and images cannot be accessed after a couple of days. There are no error-messages in the logfiles. I have to redeploy the app.

Jetty puts materialises the content to the /tmp directory. Linux clears the /tmp directory via some cron jobs. Move this temporary content storage to a directory that will not get cleared by cron.

You can add to JAVA_OPTS:
-Djava.io.tmpdir=/some_temp_dir

to move the data to /some_temp_dir.

Modify this for your requirements.
