sergeysmirnov Sep 13, 2007 5:07 PM (in response to supernovasoftware.com)For the testing purpose, try to add somewhere on the page:
<script> alert(Prototype.Version);</script>
What it says? -

9. Re: Richfaces 3.1 --> Prototype.Browser has no properties
sergeysmirnov Sep 13, 2007 6:51 PM (in response to supernovasoftware.com)Bad news. You have other Prototype.js loaded instead of one shipped with RichFaces 3.1.0.
Otherwise, the alert should show 1.5.1.1 -

11. Re: Richfaces 3.1 --> Prototype.Browser has no properties
sergeysmirnov Sep 14, 2007 4:07 PM (in response to supernovasoftware.com)Are you sure that very old prototypes comes from tomahawk ?
Does anybody else who met this problem use tomahawk also? -
12. Re: Richfaces 3.1 --> Prototype.Browser has no properties
supernovasoftware.com Sep 14, 2007 11:25 PM (in response to supernovasoftware.com)Yes. I removed
<!-- Tomahawk --> <filter> <filter-name>MyFacesExtensionsFilter</filter-name> <filter-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.filter.ExtensionsFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>MyFacesExtensionsFilter</filter-name> <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>MyFacesExtensionsFilter</filter-name> <url-pattern>/faces/myFacesExtensionResource/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping>
And it began to work. I saw this was the problem because the filter was adding this for their calendar.
I did not have this problem with 3.0.2.
Tomoahawk is version 1.1.6.jar -
13. Re: Richfaces 3.1 --> Prototype.Browser has no properties
sergeysmirnov Sep 14, 2007 11:55 PM (in response to supernovasoftware.com)Ok. Thank you for your exploration. We will figure out is it possible to illuminate this conflict in the future.
3.0.2 had Prototype 1.5.0 inside.
3.1.0 has been released with latest 1.5.1.1 . Conflict happens because the old Prototype did not see the Prototype.Browser() function that was introduced later. -

I think it will be great idea if you apply the same resolution you did here:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/RF-401.
Even I would suggest you to do this for every static JS file (I'm not sure how many are), making them dynamic (serve them dynamically, even when they aren't) only to avoid this kind of distribution problems, when new versions are released.
¿What do you think?
