1. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 9:01 AM (in response to heiko.braun)Here's an example of jboss-ejb3-core:
cd thirdparty
mvn -X -U package[INFO] snapshot org.jboss.ejb3:jboss-ejb3-core:0.1.0-SNAPSHOT: checking for updates from snapshots.jboss.org [DEBUG] Skipping disabled repository central [DEBUG] jboss-ejb3-core: resolved to version 0.1.0-20080507.084835-60 from repository snapshots.jboss.org
But here's the most recent snapshot:

2. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 9:02 AM (in response to heiko.braun)Interesting, maven-metadata.xml points to the old revision:
<metadata> <groupId>org.jboss.ejb3</groupId> <artifactId>jboss-ejb3-core</artifactId> <version>0.1.0-SNAPSHOT</version> <versioning> <snapshot> <timestamp>20080507.084835</timestamp> <buildNumber>60</buildNumber> </snapshot> <lastUpdated>20080507084837</lastUpdated> </versioning> </metadata

heiko.braun May 8, 2008 9:05 AM (in response to heiko.braun)Here the "mvn deploy" output:
Uploading: https://snapshots.jboss.org/maven2/org/jboss/ejb3/jboss-ejb3-core/0.1.0-SNAPSHOT/jboss-ejb3-core-0.1.0-20080506.155037-61.jar [...] [INFO] Retrieving previous metadata from snapshots.jboss.org [INFO] Uploading repository metadata for: 'snapshot org.jboss.ejb3:jboss-ejb3-core:0.1.0-SNAPSHOT' [INFO] Retrieving previous metadata from snapshots.jboss.org [INFO] Uploading repository metadata for: 'artifact org.jboss.ejb3:jboss-ejb3-core' [INFO] Retrieving previous metadata from snapshots.jboss.org [INFO] Uploading project information for jboss-ejb3-core 0.1.0-20080506.155037-61

4. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 9:37 AM (in response to heiko.braun)OK, got it. The maven file name is wrong, The most recent artifact contains on older timestamp in the filename then the previous one.
0.1.0-20080506.155037-61 0.1.0-20080507.084835-60

5. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
pgier May 8, 2008 10:00 AM (in response to heiko.braun)I wonder how the lower number got the later timestamp. Maybe some of the versions were deleted manually, and then re deployed later.

6. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
thomas.diesler May 8, 2008 10:21 AM (in response to heiko.braun)How do you delete stuff from the snapshot repo?

7. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
pgier May 8, 2008 10:34 AM (in response to heiko.braun)You can mount it using webdav and then just delete it like you would from a regular file system. Using fedora you can just go to Places->Connect To Server, and then mount it.

8. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 2:41 PM (in response to heiko.braun)I think the filename is build from the local system time. Which means runninga build on box which not synced by NTP produces wrong artifacts.

9. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 2:49 PM (in response to heiko.braun)What's really strange is that when I deployed manually from my box, it did reuse the 61 qualifier and put the right timestamp in the filename. So basically it did overwrite an existing snapshot.

10. Re: Snapshots update (mvn -U)
heiko.braun May 8, 2008 2:54 PM (in response to heiko.braun)Since my latest deploy you cannot see the wrong artifacts in the repository as they have been when I first published this post. They have been replaced.
