Background
PicketLink is a community open source project that tries to adhere to project schedules as much as possible. But sometime it is difficult to adhere to the set dates. If we want to release early and release often, we need to push features to next releases.

PicketLink Integration in JBoss Enterprise Products
JBoss SOA Platform
- PicketLink Federation is included as tech preview in JBoss SOA Platform 5.
- Feature Support: SAML Token Support for JBoss ESB.
JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
- PicketLink Federation is included as tech preview in JBoss EAP 5.1
- Feature Support: SAML2, WS-Trust (STS) and OpenID
JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform (EPP)
- PicketLink IDM is included in EPP 5.
XACML Support in JBoss Enterprise Products
- XACML Support is provided as part of the native security libraries (JBoss Security aka PicketBox) that is integrated into JBoss EAP 5 and beyond. Full support is provided. (Since EAP acts as the foundation for SOA and EPP, XACML is available for use by SOA and EPP customers).
- Remember, XACML Engine is a generic access control engine that is available for your business use.
SPNego/Kerberos/Negotiation Support in JBoss Enterprise Products
- JBoss Negotiation library provides the SPNego/Kerberos/Negotiation support in JBoss EAP 5 and beyond. Full support is available.
- NTLM fall back is not yet supported. (NTLM is deprecated in the industry).
What is the difference between PicketBox (JBoss Security) and PicketLink?
- PicketBox (formerly JBoss Security) acts as the foundation. We include the XACML and SPNego/Negotiation libraries as part of the native security offering.
- PicketLink is a value added Identity Management solution for JBoss Enterprise customers. It is an open source project that can be used by the community also
