Programatically adding persistent data sources

Hi!
I want to use JBoss as the core of an Ultradev-ish IDE and ERP.
I wanted to know if it's possible to programatically add data sources (databases), thru JMX, and that these would be saved on shutdown.

I don't have the JBoss docs, yet. I'll get them soon, I hope. (credit card issues, in Romania).

Has anyone built a 100% web-driven configuration interface for JBoss? At least for simple stuff, like deploying WARs and EARs (with an upload form), adding databases and stuff like that?

P.S. I know I can use JDBCpool or otherwise build my own pooling mechanism, but I'd rather use JBoss' stuff for obvious reasons.

Unless I totally miss what you are asking for, the answer is a resounding YES. - It comes as part of the JMX part of JBoss. Just browse http://localhost:8082.

I understand that the modifications made on 8082 are not saved, so they are lost after the server reboots.

Not quite so. It depends on what type of MBean you are using. This can be achieved through ModelMBean usage (you can use XMBean class). There were discussions about that, but looks like ability to automatically store MBean properties is not yet implemented.
