    Cocoon 2.0.3 & Jboss-3.0.1-Tomcat-4.0.4  still broken

    robparrott

This is an update to an earlier post, just noting that this isn't fixed in Jboss-3.0.1-Tomcat-4.0.4. The reference post, and a link to a patch can be found at

http://www.jboss.org/modules/bb/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=forums/ Cocoon + JBoss seems a reasonably common combination, I was wondering when a fix to the tomcat4service.jar code might be included?

Note that Cocoon does work in a limited way with JBoss-3.0.1+Jetty, just not with Tomcat. However, I believe that Tomcat is needed for Cocoon (if not, please correct me.)

      thanx for your input,

Please qualify exactly what you mean by :

"Note that Cocoon does work in a limited way with JBoss-3.0.1+Jetty"....

If Cocoon complies with Servlet 2.3, it should run in Jetty. I ran up the latest Cocoon (2.0.3) on JBoss 3.0.1 and ran through the demo app - I found no problems.

No, Cocoon SHOULD NOT require Tomcat - but any compliant servlet container (if properly written).

If there are problems running Cocoon 2.0.3 with JBoss 3.0.1 then I would like to hear about them, so that they can be fixed.

          Thanks for your time,

          Jules

Well, perhaps I was wrong about Cocoon/Jetty combination; I'll look into it further. I just did a cursory test.

However, with Catalina, it is still broken. Please refer to the link in the first post under this subject, and the fix alluded to by Iris there for this problem.

Well did you file a bug report on it on Sourceforge? Nobody scans forums for bug reports or patches..
