External Static Content in AS 4.2.2

I've been attempting to configure JBoss AS 4.2.2 to allow my deployed web applications to use a shared image directory on the server file system (ex. /home/www/imagebase).

I previously had this setup on AS 3.2.3 using: in the jboss-service.xml, but have been unable to find an equivalent way to configure this in 4.2.2. I find that the ROOT.war directory could serve these images, but I do not have the option to move the shared directory and would prefer not to maintain two sets of the same images if possible.

Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?

Try editing the Host tag in jboss-web.deployer/server.xml file like indicated at http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=ExternalDirectories

I tried to do the same thing for AS 4.3 version, followed the instruction on http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/ExternalDirectories, but can not find jbossweb-timecat50.sar.

How to add External Static Content for AS 4.3?

I found server.xml under deploy/jboss-web.deploy, modified it, still not working.

I can not to step 1, because there no web.xml under server/<config-name>/conf directory. When I put web.xml there, all my webapps are not working anymore.

I only want to add External Static Content for one web app.
