what are the minimum deployment descriptors

I have the classic and simple HelloWorld EJB and a simple java client.

First please tell me what are the deplyment descriptors files that are absolutely necessary to deply a signle Session EJB?

Is it possible to copy the .class files that define the EJB in the folder
under deploy folder in jboss? Or .class files must be converted to jar?

I have set up everything according to the jboss documents to deply
this simple EJB but this is the error I get when I deploy:

You need the JBoss DD:

/META-INF/jboss.xml

Example:

The ejb-name in jboss.xml must match your ejb-name in ejb-jar.xml.

You only need a jboss.xml when you want to change from the default
configurations. e.g. in your example changing the jndi binding.

What you do need to do is rename your directory to hworld.jar so that JBoss knows you
are faking a jar.

That works! All I had to do is to change the folder name to hworld.jar
