1. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
jae77 Apr 7, 2004 11:13 AM (in response to aristotle)what "release" are you using? the source release, "binary only" release, or the one that comes pre-packaged w/ jboss?
-
2. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
aristotle Apr 7, 2004 11:30 AM (in response to aristotle)I "think" it is the prepacjaged binary since trhere is a jboss folder in the zip file
nukes-1.0.0-mysql.zip
But I followed the supposed instructions and installed jboss first? -
3. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
aristotle Apr 7, 2004 11:36 AM (in response to aristotle)I just donwloaded the nukes-1.0.0-src.zip so are there any instructions for installnig from source? I see there are numerous build.sh scripts now

4. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
jae77 Apr 7, 2004 11:36 AM (in response to aristotle)i just downloaded that file, and i don't see a jboss directory contained within it.
what you'll want to do is the following:
1) create a directory under JBOSS_HOME/server/default called nukes
2) remove all "nukes" files from the JBOSS_HOME/server/default directory except for the following:
nukes.ear
nukes-ds.xml
3) take all the rest of the files (there should be a bunch of -service.xml files, a nukes-bb.ear, and nukes-permission.sar) and copy all of those into the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/nukes directory that you created.
start up jboss and you should be good to go. these instructions can also be found in the install.txt file that is contained in the nukes-1.0.0-mysql.zip file. -
5. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
aristotle Apr 7, 2004 12:11 PM (in response to aristotle)Followed your instructions and it removed almost all the content that was there before and now its a very blank home page only showing the header and a messsage "file id is not indictaed".
There are no "nukes" files under /usr/local/jboss-3.2.3/server/default, only folders.
Removed nukes folder ...
/usr/local/jboss-3.2.3/server/default/nukes
Recreated nukes folder
/usr/local/jboss-3.2.3/server/default/nukes
Copied nukes.ear, nukes-ds.xml to folder above
Restarted jboss
went to http://hostname:8080/nukes/
Only header and message about file ID, worse state than before. Instructions are wrong. Any "other" suggestions?
Also, the install.txt ACTUALLY says
"4/ Put the nukes datasource, it will use the driver and will enable nukes to use the database
you have created in the database setup process. Copy nukes-ds.xml to jboss-3.2.3/server/default/deploy
5/ Copy nukes.ear to jboss-3.2.3/server/default/deploy
6/ Copy the content of the directory nukes to jboss-3.2.3/server/default/nukes (this is where additional modules are copied)"
Note #6 about copying content of the nukes directory, which includes many more files than the two you indicated? -
6. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
jae77 Apr 7, 2004 12:29 PM (in response to aristotle)the nukes.ear and nukes-ds.xml file need to go in the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy directory - i did say in my previous post to remove all nukes files EXCEPT those two from the "default" directory - which i now realize i probably should have said "deploy" directory, sorry.
so here it is again, revised. :)
1) remove all nukes files from JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy
2) create JBOSS_HOME/server/default/nukes
3) copy nukes-ds.xml and nukes.ear to JBOSS_HOME/server/default/deploy
4) copy all other files to JBOSS_HOME/server/default/nukes.
5) delete JBOSS_HOME/server/default/tmp just to be on the safe side. -
7. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
aristotle Apr 7, 2004 12:39 PM (in response to aristotle)wow, this should be that hard. Went through the exact steps, which was what I did on first install, same steps, and now it is ciompletely hooped and I bet lots of errors starting jboss

8. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
jae77 Apr 7, 2004 12:50 PM (in response to aristotle)there is still a jboss instance running somewhere, which is why the "Port Already in Use" messages are appearing.
even if you've killed the jboss process, you may need to reboot if it's a windows box to clear everything up. -
9. Re: Please Help, no modules visible except forums?
aristotle Apr 7, 2004 1:54 PM (in response to aristotle)ahh that fixed it, rebotting. So now I am back to where I started, without loggin in I only see the "Forums" module...is that correct?
When I login in as admin/admin I can see the following
Main Menu
· Home
Modules
· Permission
· Select theme
· Manage groups
· Index
· Manage html
· Change your info
· Member list
· Logout/Exit
· Blocks
· Forums
· Forums security
· Forums admin
· My Account
If this is correct, my next question is about blocks. I created a new HTML Block and wanted to have it simply list links I have from a PhpNuke block. Just html with bulletted list of links. How do I add that do a block? The block shows up on the right where I put it but just says "file not available" and going to edit the block is only gives four fields of options
Title
DisplayName
etc
How do I simply add some html content to a block, or any other content for that matter?
Thanks again for all your help.
