    Taglibs newbie question

    pedrosacosta

      I've the following jsp:

      <%@ taglib uri="../tld/c.tld" prefix="c" %>
      <%@ taglib uri="../tld/portlet.tld" prefix="portlet" %>

      <c:out value="${5+4}"/>
      <c:out value="${portletContextScope.portletContextScopeTest}"/>

      As result, i get
      ${5+4} instead of 9
      ${portletContextScope.portletContextScopeTest}" instead of something

      The taglib uri are correct.

      I've put standard.jar and jstl.jar in the server/deploy/lib directory.

      Should i do anything else? Can you help me?

      Thanks,
      Pedro

          The directory structure that i've in my project is:

          /WEB-INF
          |
          --> /jsp
          | |
          | ---> JSP files
          |-->/tld
          | |
          | ---> tld files
          |-->/lib
          |
          --->standard.jar
          --->jstl.jar

              I ran into the same problem. For me, the problem began when I was forced to create a web.xml for my portlet. My web.xml was using 2.3 instead of version 2.4. Make sure the top of your web.xml file looks like this.

              <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
              <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
               xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
               xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"
               version="2.4">

              Hope that helps!
