1. Re: error at startup: 'jbossportal.jbp_users' doesn't exist
theute May 31, 2006 3:27 AM (in response to neoprem)Those errors are correct, at first deployment if the tables don't exist it throws that error and create the table, this is expected.
If you start a new development, you should go with JBossPortal 2.4 -
2. Re: error at startup: 'jbossportal.jbp_users' doesn't exist
neoprem May 31, 2006 3:35 AM (in response to neoprem)okay, but then the table never gets populated with any user data.
So when I run the portal and try to log in with user/user, or admin/admin, it fails.
When I try to create a new user, it again fails to insert a record in the table.
Thanks

theute May 31, 2006 3:53 AM (in response to neoprem)Why do you have 2 datasource decriptors ? I mysql-ds and portal-mysql-ds ?
Watch out the problem with MySQL 5 (see other forum threads and Wiki) -

I also use mysql as the db for another application deployed in jboss. The mysql-ds is for that.

6. Re: error at startup: 'jbossportal.jbp_users' doesn't exist

This issue is resolved. I found the following workaround in the wiki:
http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=AvoidMySQL5DataTruncationErrors
I rechecked my log files and found that the Data truncation: Data too long for column 'jbp_viewrealemail' at row 1 error had shown up at installation time. I had not noticed it earlier.
The steps I followed to resolve this are:
1. Applied the workaround
2. Restarted mysql instance, since the my.ini was changed.
3. I wiped out all the tables in the jbossportal database.
4. I restarted the appserver, the tables got re-created and populated correctly.
Thank you
Prem
