    jvmRoute updated via JMX

      Hi all,

First of all – congrats on new project site – looks great!

I have a small question about jvmRoute sent to mod_cluster Apache module. Currently when I run a JBoss with a specified jvmRoute it is correctly sent to mod_cluster module. After I update this setting (using JMX: jboss.web:type=Engine jvmRoute) front-end module isn't updated (ie. I can see old jvmRoute in mod_cluster-manager). Shouldn't it be updated there? Can it be considered as a bug?

      Thanks!

I have some more info on that. Basically I was wrong in the previous post. jvmRoute is sent to mod_cluster Apache module (but after long time – 5-10 min?), but old nodes (with old jvmRoute) aren't removed – that's an obvious bug. Take a look at mod_cluster manager:

I don't think updating the jvmRoute is going to work in mod_cluster.... I am not sure why someone could need that feature.

You're right, this not a necessary feature. Wondered if this will work because JBoss allows to change jvmRoute value via JMX.

              Thanks!

We should either file this as a low priority bug - if anything to document this as a known issue; or, add this to the documentation itself, so people know not to do this.
