Creating rich:calendar dynamically in h:datatable

hi all,

i want to know that can i create richface calendar dynamically as we can create core jsf controls. like i m able to create datatable and bind it with empty datatable in my jsp page.

my current requirement is to create a table having two columns 1. for label n 2 for any type of control like input text, combo and calendar (rich:calendar) for date entry based on some condition

is it possible to do so with richfaces calendar ? if not is there any way to achieve this (creating some control for date n time entry dynamically)

Hi,

It's possible to create RF components the same way as any other JSF components, use:

application.createComponent(componentType)

Thanks for ur reply.. again these examples show the core jsf components <h:somecompenent > etc... and i have already done this my question was related to richfaces like <rich:calendar> tag or component as i cant see something like Calendar class as HtmlOutputText etc classes are....

There's HtmlCalendar class.

thanks .. i got Calendar class n i can use it accordingly.. but one more question. according to my scenario i want to create a datatable having two columns 1st would have outputtext, and 2nd column would be inputtext, combo, or calendar (one for each row) e.g

Header 1	Header 2
Site to be visited	[input field for the name]
Date	[calendar to select a date]

like above... means how to create multiple rows of fixed number of columns. currently i can iterate over the object having two things (column1, column2)  and column2 contains the condition based on which i have to choose b/w input n calendar etc.

maybe it would be easier not to create components dynamically but create set of facelet tags with the inputs which could be used and use include component in column with params for value and so on and manage include src dynamically according to the type of input required for that row.

Hmmm.. i also came to the same conclusion that its better to have such components there in the table and should be rendered according to given condition of component type....
