Where crossdomain.xml and clientaccesspolicy.xml files have to placed in JBoss 5.1

Hello Jboss Community,

Can anyone suggest me where crossdomain.xml and clientaccesspolicy.xml files have to be placed in JBoss 5.1?

In JBoss 4.2.2 they were placed in jboss/server/${instant}/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/ROOT.war directory, but there is no such directory in JBoss 5.1.

I guess they have to be placed in jboss/server/${instant}/deploy/ROOT.war dir, but was not able to find it in configuration guide.

Any help will be appreciated.

The jboss/server/${instant}/deploy/ROOT.war directory is the root context in AS 5.x.

1) How are these files being used?

2) How are these files being accessed?

The files are used as access policy files for Silverlight and Flash to communicate with the web services.

You answered question 1, but not 2. Can I assume that Flash and Silverlight access these files via a URL such as http://hostname:8080/crossdomain.xml? If so, then the mentioned directory is the correct location.

Seems you're quite right.

Adobe site says:

{quote}Cross-domain policy files, named crossdomain.xml, are placed at the  root level of a server.{quote}

another site says:

The most common location for a policy file on a server is in the root  directory of a domain with the file
name crossdomain.xml (e.g. http://example.com/crossdomain.xml)  -- the default  location that
