First, I like #7.

Second, how will application be skinned? I think we need to see this mockup implemented for two-three more skins - e.g. classic, emeraldTown & ruby.

I like v7 - it is pretty elegant now.

1. thinking about making the background little more aggressive (but considering the target group, elegant is maybe more appropriate?)
2. the side menu may be little more prettify
   1. icons?
   2. background theme for menu items? (I have no particular idea here, just for considering)
3. the same for View source, etc. links
   1. what about employing icons? (my idea - the icon for View Source may be tree and the icon for Beans may be "some metaphor for component" (3 boxes with different colours organized in some way?)
   2. make them a styled buttons with fixed width?
   3. consider moving the sources to tabbed panel since it is quite hard to work with a several sources appearing bellow each other

@Nick: the best way of presenting skinning potential may be showing special theme for each component skin (but requires quite excessive work)

Jay, I wanted to bring some ideas to prettify the control panel. In particular my idea was using the lines crossways the panel with skins in combination with some form of transparency gradient like in, but in in v7 there is no more need to prettify this particular area, the theme is consistent enough.

And agree with Lukas during impl we will consider some icons additions to menu and some links (e.g. as for 3.3.x demo)..

I think that skinning should be confined to components begin shown in the main space, not the whole application.
