How to close modalpanel without Richfaces.HideModalPanel

I want to close a modal panel, but, i cannot use the code "Richfaces.hideModalPanel" because it crashes my user interface (i dont know why..)

Someone knows another way to close a modal panel without richfaces.hidemodalpanel ?

You can add r:componentControl to any JSF component, including commandButton, commandLink, etc.

My problem was not in the richfaces.hideModalPanel... i changed my rerender code in my js Function that calls Richfaces.hideModalPanel, and that resolved. 

I researched a solution, and a jQuery Hide, can hide modal panels too with a little effort, but i dont tried.
