a4j:outputPanel layout="none"

Hi all,

Using richfaces 4 If I set to none the attribute layout of a4j:outputPanel I get this error

No enum const class org.richfaces.component.OutputPanelLayout.none

I think it can be related to this issue https://issues.jboss.org/browse/RF-10193

No it's not related but just not implemented in first version. It has problems in 3.3.x so we decided to postpone and review.

Ilya, when finally Richfaces 4 developers plan to implement layout value "none" to <a4j:outputPanel> and other elements?

And if it is in the plans at all?

Is there an alternative richfaces/jsf tag or construction with the same result?

I used this to display or hide some content based on the condition in the rendered attribute but without generating a div tag.

As far as I understandt jsfajax and richfaces (3.3.x) you'll need some html-tag to be able to replace it upon rerendering. So you can choose between a <div> or a <span> per default. What woudl you expect from a "layout=none" mode? Generating additional spans doesn't hurt - at least our web-guys don't complain about it und write their css accordingly. ;-)
