can mod_cluster check status page in context to determine node availability?

Hi all,

Our devs like to create status pages for their apps such as:

/context/status

that do one, or both, of the following:

present a status code of something other than 200 (they may check other systems and if down want us to remove the node)

and/or

change the text on said status page to "bad" or "down" or whatever.

So, is there a way for mod_cluster to exclude the node based on the status and/or text on a page within the context it is clustering?

mod_cluster only checks that the node is working it can't check application.

Hm if you really need it you can write our own metric to achieve that.

ahh ok ... this sounds good. (fair warning: i'm a sysadmin, not a dev, but i wanna try this, forgive me if i'm waay off).

So, i found this:

"If your question is how to create a custom LoadMetric, simply implement org.jboss.modcluster.load.metric.LoadMetric and contribute it to the set of metrics with which your org.jboss.modcluster.load.impl.DynamicLoadBalanceFactorProvider is constructed."

That's pretty much what i need to do, right? And it can query the page they give me and react?
