1. Re: is boxgrinder the right tool for this job?
goldmann Sep 5, 2011 6:15 AM (in response to augustsimonelli)Hi August,
For Fedora and CentOS there are freely accessible repositories available. With RHEL this is a bit different. You need to have your own RHEL repository available locally and specify the location in repos section. Make sure you mark the repo as ephemeral. If you don't have a repository - you can mount RHEL ISO locally and specufy the path like this: file:///mnt/rhel-iso-mount-point.
Afterwards you'llbe able to build your RHEL AMI's.

augustsimonelli Sep 5, 2011 7:09 AM (in response to goldmann)Ok thanks for the info. Bummer tho! (edit: hit save too soon).
I can't think of any other way to get a RHEL SOE we build internally onto EC2. I thought maybe http://aws.amazon.com/solutions/global-solution-providers/redhat/ but that's not gonna give us our SOE.
AWS doesn't seem to be able to import Red Hat images (windows only?) ... so boxgrinder is my only hope :-)
Maybe mrepo up the RHN stuff? I gotta try, as a famous jedi once said "help me boxgrinder, you're my only hope!" :-)
